We will spend this day exploring the broader region of the Zlatibor Mountain. The first stop will be in the town of Sirogojno, visiting the famous exhibition of houses with different Serbian national architectural styles from the last two centuries. Then, we will continue towards the national park Gostilje, where we will enjoy a beautiful waterfall. After a picnic style lunch, consisting of Zlatibor's persutto (a thin ham usually served with kajmak, a rich spread made from steamed milk), we will spend the rest of the day visiting the churches and monasteries of this region. There is the Emperor Constantine and Emperor Helena's church in the town of Ljubis, and the historic wooden church in the village of Dobroselica. For monastery lovers, we offer a special 8km/5mi hike to the Uvac Monastery, situated at the foothill of the mountain Tornik. Return to the resort in the evening hours, where our cook will prepare a special Serbian chowder, or bean soup with Serbian sausage. |
| This is probably the most interesting day of the entire tour, especially for nature lovers. It's a whole day excursion to Tara Mountain, where we will also visit Mokra Gora, Drvengrad - Emir Kusturica's movie studio, and a major attraction - Shargan's Eight (an old train ride through the same region). We will take you to the edge of the only rainforest in Europe – Perucica, and to the Perucac Lake. Lunch will be organized in one of the hotels on the Peak of Tara Mountain. After lunch we will take you on a mild hike offering extremely beautiful lookout points. Returning to Zlatibor in the evening hours with dinner as previously arranged. |
